Hällrace 100 - Results 2024

Start times May 10, 2024, between 8:00 PM-12:00 AM

Welcome to Söderhamn and Hällmyra Arena on May 10-11 for running through the early summer night in the first edition of our new ultrarun, Hällrace 100.

Hällrace 100 consists of three different ultraruns: 100km starting at 8:00 PM, 80km (50 miles) starting at 10:00 PM, and 50km starting at 12:00 AM.

We also offer a 10 km race and a 30 km race. You can choose your own start times between 8:00 PM on May 10th and 9:00 AM on May 11th for the 30 km race, and until 12:00 PM for the 10 km race

Note! We accept a maximum of 50 participants in total.

This race emphasizes simplicity, social camaraderie, and nature experiences, prioritizing the adventure of running long distances over speed and performance. We aim for participants to experience running for many hours together with others, traversing various types of terrain and pushing themselves to run farther than they have before. Essentially, we want to convey the joy of the challenge and the experience of ultra and trail running. Of course, there's an opportunity for experienced ultrarunners to compete, but the spirit of the race is that this is a challenge we undertake together.

The course consists of a 10km loop with bark tracks, forest trails of varying difficulty, forest roads, and gravel paths. The course is somewhat technical in parts and will be relatively demanding to navigate in the dark. The elevation gain is approximately 190 meters per loop.

The course will be marked with orange flags with reflectors and supplemented with trail markers. Flags will be stuck into the ground.

Lap counting will be done at the starting area, where participants can set up their own tents near the start with their own supplies such as energy, fluids, and clothing. Toilets, changing rooms, sauna, and a warming hut are available near the start.

We will provide water, juice, assorted fruits, and warm soup at certain times. Participants must bring any additional supplies they require.

Timing will be done using an orienteering stick that each participant is responsible for registering at each lap. There will be a screen displaying each participant's laps and distance.
