100 days mountains and sea

Sandarne, September 21, 2018

When we finished our second year of everyday adventures in December 2017, we started thinking about whether we should continue with a third year of everyday adventures or do something else. The urge and inspiration for the same theme didn't feel quite as strong as before. After reasoning and thinking together for a couple of weeks, we decided that our shared theme would be micro-adventures mainly in the mountains and by the sea. To continue living a life with a lot of time together in nature and to focus on the sea and the Swedish mountains. We thought that it didn't necessarily have to be completely new tours and activities, nature still offers variety. A swim around Stålnässkäret can be experienced completely differently depending on water temperature, winds, and time of year and day, just as the experience of reaching a mountain top can appear completely different at different times and weather conditions.

We've been thinking about getting a mountain cabin, or rather, we've been wishing for one since the winter of 1989-90. Then we borrowed a caravan and set it up in Vemdalen for a season and then went downhill skiing every weekend. This year, we decided to buy a cabin for a trial period of 3 years and then evaluate if it was worth the time and money.

As I'm writing this, we've been doing #100daysmountainsandsea for almost 9 months, and I've noticed that I miss flipping back through our activities, as I could do with everyday adventures. I will now start posting some pictures from the year and gradually add more experiences of mountains and sea. It feels fun and inspiring, both to choose pictures and to be able to look back on our activities. Under #100daysmountainsandsea, we post our continued micro-adventures on Instagram @motionzonen.

Mitt på toppröset på Sömlingshogna, en fantastisk vinterdag.
